Abbey Road Housing co-operative is a resident managed organisation established in 1992 to manage 278 properties on behalf of the London Borough of Camden.
Opportunity now exist for hard working, honest, dependable and self-motivated individual with the right attitude to fill the position below:
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Salary: £19,500 Per Annum
Annual Leave: 20 days plus public holidays.

* Experience of estate cleaning especially tower blocks.
* Experience of plumbing and minor maintenance works.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on an individual basis with minimal supervision.
* A strong commitment to providing excellent customer focus service.

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE: Our contract with Julius Rutherfoord comes to an end on 30th November 2016. The management Committee decided to re-tender the grounds maintenance contract. We wish Julius Rutherfoord success in the future. Following this decision, Acacia Gardens Ltd has been awarded the grounds maintenance contract for initial one year. Renewal will depend on their performance and residents' feedback, your comments to the estate office will be very much appreciated.
ESTATE CLEANING : The Committee during the re-tendering decided to bring back cleaning services in-house and have agreed to recruit one full-time permanent Caretaker, one part-time (3 days per week) Caretaker and one full-time Estate Cleaner. Recruitment for Caretakers' post will commence on first week of December 2016 and will be advertised on this website among other medium, the Cleaner position will be offered under TUPE regulations. We hope to get full compliment of staff in place by beginning of February 2017 or before.
Celebrating 25 years of Abbey Road Housing Co-operative: Sadly we were compelled to cancel the funday for summer 2016 due to poor weather conditions. The good news is that summer 2017 event is going to be bigger and better as we look forward to celebrate the silver jubilee of your co-operative in management. This is a milestone and shows how residents can come together to make things happen in a positive way. The date proposed for this grand celebration is Saturday 8th July 2017 I hope you will look forward and be part of the celebration.
SNOWMAN HOUSE & CASTERBRIDGE: Camden contractors continue to work on changing the heating pipes covering to fire resistant panels as part of the Fire Brigade's recommendation. These works will be completed soon we continue to appeal to residents for your patience as we know this brings a significant challenge to block cleaning.
Front doors: Following the installation of the new fire resistant front doors, we have received some reports of minor defects which we have passed on to Camden to resolve. The doors are still under one year warranty period, we are therefore appealing to all residents to report any defects to the estate office for quick remedial works to be carried out.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM): Our AGM for 2016-17 financial year was held on 20th September 2016, attendance was average. PARENTS GROUP: We are still looking for volunteers to establish Parents/Guardians Group on the estate to be at the forefront of advising the committee on social and educational activities suitable for our children. The long term objective is to develop this group into a Sub-Committee so that they can organise such activities in the near future. Please contact the estate office on
