Proposed Regeneration of the Abbey Area
Abbey Area Masterplan
Development of the Abbey Area has been the subject of consultation with residents, ward councillors and community organisations as part of the Estate Regeneration programme, which is led by the Council’s Housing Directorate.
The proposed development includes 241 new residential units, including 114 affordable units and 15 mews houses, up to 407.5 sqm of commercial floorspace, up to 977 sqm of flexible commercial floorspace, up to 2500 sqm community and health
floorspace and associated space for parking, plant, servicing, ancillary storage and energy centre in five buildings.
The proposals also provide open space and landscaping; alterations to existing highway layout and creation of new vehicular and pedestrian access routes.
